Normally I try to avoid chain-brand pizza, but the latest Domino's ad has been on a lot the last couple days and after seeing if enough times on TV, I caved. The power of seeing food on television is amazing isn't it?

When I was younger, I used to love Domino's. I can't tell you how many times I grapped their carry-out special of a large 1 topping pizza for $5.99. But as I got older I really started to appreciate homestyle pizza and the only time I would call a Domino' s is if it's a 'pizza emergencey', meaning a late night starvation situation that requires a delivery due to alcohol consumption. And everytime I eat it, it's the same exact thing. I know it's pizza because it's dough, sauce and cheese, but something just isn't right and I swear that I'll never get it again.

Sometimes a deal can get you though. I kept seeing the large 3-topping pizza for $7.99 carry-out special over and over and I started to think about the old days when I used to eat multiple pizzas from Domino's week to week. Really, it looked so good on tv I thought something had changed. I was determined to make sure that it would somehow be different than the last few times by branching out with the 'Brooklyn style' pizza.  Well, Brooklyn style, deep dish or whatever you get from Domino's, it's always the same. To me, it's not something that I put in the delicious category. As mentioned, I know it's pizza, but something is always just a little off. The one good thing I can say about Domino's is that they are always consistent. And consistency is a great quality to have. So, if you love Domino's get out and grap a 3 topping pizza for $7.99 because it tastes the same as it always has, and it's inexpensive. Unfortunately, I won't be calling until the next 'Pizza emergency'.
