They won't give us Uber but sure, Gondola's in downtown Albany sound like a great alternative.

I hope you could sense my sarcasm there. I know it's a bit hard to get it across in text sometimes.

So there's a story making the rounds on the news outlets saying that the city wants to put in gondola's to transport people from the Amtrak station in Rensselear to the Capital Building downtown.

Which, if it is that hard to get a cab from the train station I'd normally be all for. But I feel like there is another solution that would not only rectify this problem but be beneficial for everyone in the Capital Region as apposed too just the occasional commuter that doesn't even live in our county.

Uber! You know that ride share service everyone had been lobbying for but for some reason is only allowed in one city in the entire state of New York (coincidentally it's the one that the people you are trying to cater too probably live in). The one that allows you to use an app that tracks your location, handles payment, and is more convenient and cost efficient for the consumer than the terrible and expensive taxi services here in the Capital Region.

News10 even states in it's report that Gondola's are

a decades old technology

Personally I feel like this is an unnecessary solution when there are better alternatives but I'd probably totally ride it back and forth a few times just for funzies ... maybe.

What do you think? You for some gondola rides downtown?
