We haven't gotten a full reveal of the new 'Godzilla' yet (at least in terms of official shots from the movie), but this new 'Godzilla' poster is a step in the right direction. Or, rather, a step in the other direction as Godzilla opts for the classic back-to-the-camera poster cliche.

Revealed by Yahoo! Movies, the new 'Godzilla' poster gives us a look at exactly how massive Godzilla really is; he truly is the king of the monsters. With all the destruction that has befallen the United States in movies over the years, we sometimes forget that Godzilla is the biggest beast of them all. As Yahoo! notes, Godzilla looks about double the size of San Francisco's TransAmerica Pyramid Center, which is 853' high making Godzilla himself about 1600' high or just over five football fields tall.

We also get another look at the paratroopers descending on the carnage, red plumes of smoke billowing behind them. We've seen them previously in both the film's trailer and the teaser poster.

Regardless of how the movie turns out, it's hard to see this poster (which owes something to the U.S. poster for the original 1954 film) and not get just a little excited for the movie. OK, a LOT excited.

The official plot synopsis for the 'Godzilla' movie describes the film as such:

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

'Godzilla', which stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sally Hawkins and Juliette Binoche, hits theaters on May 16, 2014.
