Jimmer Fredette,  the Glens Falls native and 2011 College Basketball player of the year that took college basketball and the nation by storm this season is about to make good on "The Contract" he signed with his brother to play in the NBA.  June 23rd is the NBA draft selection and Jimmer Jam at the Glens Falls Civic Center. 

While basketball fans are busy speculating what team Jimmer will begin his professional career with, his hometown is hosting a community celebration at his home  court at the Glens Falls Civic Center in support of his promising future called Jimmer Jam.

All proceeds for the event will benefit local charities in the Glens Falls region: Double H Ranch, Glens Falls High School, Kids Kash Foundation, Special Olympics of New York, and the Glens Falls Family YMCA Strong Kids Foundation.

The June 23rd event at the Civic Center will run from 5-9pm and will be presented by The City of Glens Falls, Global Spectrum, and the D’ella Auto Group. Features of the evening will include:

• Kids Skill Games & Prizes on Civic Center Basketball Court

• Special Feature Jimmer Highlight Videos and Live Draft Broadcast on Mega-Screens

• Jimmer’s National Awards on Display (including the 2011 Naismith Trophy)

• Silent Auction

• Food & Beverages

It’s been an awesome journey to where we are and it all started back home in Glens Falls, I’m honored that my hometown is doing this event and will share in this special night for my family and I. I really appreciate everyone’s continued support and having the proceeds go to Glens Falls charities involving kids is such a great thing.
