The annual First Night Saratoga is expected to bring thousands to the Spa City for New Year's this weekend.

According to The Record (Troy, NY), First Night Saratoga is the largest New Year's Eve event outside of NYC and one of the oldest First Night celebrations in the country. It's expected to draw over 15,000 to Saratoga Springs. The event takes place at various indoor establishments in the city's historic downtown district from 6pm to midnight on New Year's. Of all the entertainment lined up for this event, the highlight for me would be to see Albany, NY based guitarist Mike Campese. A guy who recorded and performed with Trans-Siberian Orchestra including on their great, The Lost Christmas Eve album. Campese, a Shaker High graduate and honors graduate from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California has also had a solo career and has performed with national acts like the Spin Doctors, Sebastian Bach, Dokken, Lou Reed, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Members of Yes, Kip Winger, and more. He also performed on the Crue Fest 2 Tour that featured Motley Crue and Godsmack.

First Night events are family friendly and alcohol free. Tickets are $20. You can get more info here.
