Detroit Lion Fans Don’t Want Nickelback at Thanksgiving Halftime

Nickelback is probably one of the most loved and hated rock bands on the planet.  There really is no in between when it comes to them, it's just that kind of relationship.  They are booked for the halftime show in Detroit on Thanksgiving this year and Lion fans are very angry about it.

There are a few football halftime shows that draw big name acts.  The Super Bowl is obviously number one,  The Rose Bowl in college could get a big band, even the NFL probowl gets a show going at halftime.  Thanksgiving football in Detroit is a tradition and also is one of those big games.  This year Nickelback, a band that has sold nearly 50 million albums world wide, is booked to play the halftime show but the Detroit Lion fans don't want them there.

Lion fans have even gone as far as to start up a online petition (because those always work) to get the band unbooked for the event.  So what is their big argument for not wanting Nickelback?

This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback?

They are looking to get 25,000 signatures and as of right now have a little over 21,000.  Pretty impressive, but something tells they won't be changing the lineup.   I'm pretty sure Nickelback as a few fans here and there.  It should be interesting to watch the halftime show, because I am willing to bet that there will be a few boos heard in the crowd.
