Date Set for the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink to Open for 2016-17 Season

The Empire State Plaza in Albany is getting ready for the start of the 2016-2017 ice skating season and the rink is set to open very soon!

If yesterday's snow (or the fact that it's thanksgiving week) has got you in the winter spirit get ready because the winter fun is just beginning!

According to All Over Albany opening day has been set for the 2016-2017 ice skating season at the Empire State Plaza. The rink is set to open for the season (weather permitting) on December 2nd!

Best part is it is FREE to skate! So bring your own and it costs you NOTHING or you can rent them there, it's only $4 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under except on Fridays when it's FREE for ALL!

The rink is open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm with the exception of a short break between 3pm and 4pm for maintenance. They are even holding a few learn to skate clinics in case you have always wanted to learn (or have little ones that are just starting out). The clinics have been known to fill up quickly and require preregistration so if you want in on those I suggest you click HERE and do that!
