Panera Bread has issued a recall of all cream cheese products sold in it's U.S. stores.

According to Panera Bread, the voluntary recall of all the 2 and 8 oz. cream cheese products is being initiated over Listeria fears. Samples of one variety of 2 oz. cream cheese from one day of production tested positive for presence of Listeria monocytogenes. While there have been no reported illnesses, the company is conducting the recall as a preemptive measure.  "The safety our guests and associates is paramount, therefore we are recalling all cream cheese products sold in the U.S. with an active shelf life. We ahave likewise ceased all manufacturing in the in the associated cream cheese facility," said Panera's President and CEO Blaine Hurst. More info on the recall can be seen here.

According to the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and others with a weak immune system. What are your thoughts on the recall? Are you worried about getting sick?
