On January 10th 2016, David Robert Jones/David Bowie, passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer, just 3 days after his 69th birthday, and the release of his final album: Blackstar.

Blackstar is a "parting gift" to David Bowie's fans, according to producers, but I feel that there was no gift greater, then David Bowie himself, in which he gave to us, for over 5 decades.

In October of this year, I kept trying to get my 3-year-old son, to watch "Labyrinth" with me, because I felt that it was suitable Halloween themed movie, but my son didn't want to watch "Labyrinth," but that did not stop me.

I would tell my son that the movie was not "Labyrinth," and that it was David Bowie, just so I could hear my 3-year-old say "I don't like David Bowie!"

"But Dada loves David Bowie!" I said to my son.

"You love David Bowie!" he replied.

"No, you love David Bowie." I said back to him, and we would go back and forth, until I would start singing "Dance Magic Dance" to him, and he would dance and laugh, singing "Jump magic, jump, dance magic, dance," with me.

I did this with him all month long, for 2 reasons, because I loved hearing my 3-year-old say "David Bowie," and because "Labyrinth" was one of my favorite movies when I was his age.

I have so many memories associated with David Bowie, but that one is my favorite, sharing something from my childhood with my own son, watching him laugh, and dance, and sing, without a care in the world, just like I did.

Thanks, David Bowie.
