Are the New York Knicks missing out on yet another marquee player?  Right now it looks like Melo could be headed across the river instead.

For months Carmelo Anthony has been asking for a trade away from Denver.  He has also been entertaining the idea of heading to New York and teaming up with Amare Stoudemire which would make the Knicks quite a power house in the East.  I know most Knick fans have been drooling over the possibility.  As of right now it seems like it was just a fantasy. Instead of New York, it looks like Carmelo Anthony will be joining the New Jersey Nets.

Yes that's right, the Nets.  The deal, according to sources at ESPN, would involve three teams (the Nuggets, Pistons and Nets) and send 15 players to new homes.  It would send Melo to the Nets along with teammate Chauncy Billups.  Rip Hamilton from Detroit would also join Anthony and Billups in New Jersey.

So unfortunately for Knick fans, you may be missing out once again.  First Lebron, now Carmelo. Hey at least you landed Stoudemire in the off season because he has given life to the franchise.  Nothing confirmed on the deal as of yet, but I think by the end of the day Melo could be packing his bags for the Garden State.
