Capital Region Woman Finds Wallet, Steals Cash, Gets Arrested

A woman who found a wallet at a McDonald's in Halfmoon, NY and stole the cash out of it has been arrested.

According to The Daily Gazette, Troopers say surveillance video helped nab a woman for stealing cash from a wallet that was left behind at a McDonald's on rt. 9 back on May 23. The owner of the wallet got out to the parking lot before realizing she had left the wallet behind on the counter. Upon returning, the wallet was not on the counter but was found in the bathroom with $180 missing. Surveillance video showed that a 42-year-old woman had spotted the wallet and took it into the bathroom. She was arrested on Saturday facing one count of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

What would you have done? If you found the wallet would you have alerted the management at the restaurant and attempted to get it back to its owner? I see bad karma coming for this small-time Halfmoon heist.
