What a night it was, as the worlds of rock and wrestling overlapped at the NXT Takeover: New Orleans event Saturday night (April 7) at the Smoothie King Center.

Upstart rockers Cane Hill had been chosen as the WWE #NXTLOUD artist for this event, getting a chance to play "It Follows" as can be seen in the video below. Both "It Follows" and "Lord of Flies" had been chosen as theme songs for the event.

But there was a little surprise in store as well, as the band welcomed Halestorm's Lzzy Hale to the stage to sing "Free the Flame," NXT Women's champ Ember Moon's entrance theme. The wrestler clearly enjoyed the backing, playing up to Hale before making her way to the ring. The performance footage of Hale with Cane Hill with Ember Moon can be seen above.

Despite the great intro, the night did not yield the results Moon would've liked as she was defeated in her match against Shayna Baszler. However, both Hale and Cane Hill were thrilled by getting a chance to take part in the night, as seen in a series of social media posts below.

It was a big night for Cane Hill as the New Orleans natives followed their appearance at the NXT Takeover with a hometown show at the House of Blues. They're supporting their sophomore set, Too Far Gone. Meanwhile, Halestorm are working toward the release of a new album expected later this year.
