Looks like all of New York State will soon be able to enjoy a nice adult beverage during Sunday Brunch, Sunday Football, and for all those Sunday Funday's many have been known to enjoy and you can do it all before noon!

I'm not really sure the exact history behind this law that has been in effect since probably prohibition but I assume it had something to do with not being drunk for church?  Well times they are a changing, a bill that has been dubbed the 'Brunch Bill' is making progress through legislation.

Originally when I blogged about this topic there were two bills up for discussion but now it seems to have been condensed into one and it looks like there were some compromises made. The bill still has to be approved by the State Senate and Assembly but once it does you will be able to enjoy a bloody marry or mimosa at brunch, a ice cold brew at a Buffalo Bills game, and even fill up your growler starting at 10am on Sundays. Plus the bill will allow establishments that want to hold an out door Sunday Funday event to apply for permits up to 12 a year to serve outside starting at 8am on Sundays. Apparently there are some other bonuses in the bill that relate mostly to the manufactures and retailers you can read more about that HERE if you're interested.

I mean personally I don't get why this is even an issue what's so special about Sundays? You can get booze at 8am any other day of the week.
