Blockbuster is going the way of the dinosaurs: extinct.

Just last week the movie rental chain announced it would be closing all of their stores in favor of going the online rental route, like Netflix. That included over 300 stores in the US.., with an additional 264 stores in both England and Ireland.

It's rather sad when you think about how modern day kids will not be able to know the joys of going out in the world, driving to the movie store in hopes they have the movie you want only to find out they don't, and, of course, late fees.

It's a sad day in the world, friends.
