The Black Keys and the Flaming Lips will join forces for a brief but all-powerful spate of dates this spring. Both bands are already touring separately, and their paths will converge on April 28 and remain as such through May 3. It's not enough to label it an actual "tour," but that's semantics. All that matters is that they will grace the same stages.

It's almost too much alt-rock awesomeness on one bill, and it might prove difficult for some fans to handle. The bands will link up in Kansas City and wrap their time together in Nashville. It may only be four dates, but if you're lucky enough to land in the eye of this storm, consider yourself lucky!

Here's hoping Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne joins the Keys onstage or perhaps even invites Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney into his plastic bubble. Alas, these gigs might not bring any once-in-a-lifetime collaborations, but we can dream, right?
