Looks like Dr. Venkman is back!  Bill Murray has finally agreed to join the rest of the cast for a third Ghostbusters movie, and according to the films director he even agreed to a fourth film!  This is fantastic news because Ghostbusters 1 & 2 are a couple of my favorite movies.  I just hope that the third one will stay true to those ones and we aren't looking at a disaster.

Now that the cast is fully assembled, the filming of these films will begin and are due out for Christmas 2012 and 2013.  The whole idea of a third Ghostbusters film has been floating around for quite some time now, but when Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis signed on things really took off.  Soon after Ernie Hudson agreed to reprise his role and then they were just waiting on Murray who was playing hard to get.  Well, he has been got!

Bill loves these characters as much as we all do, and it was simply a matter of nailing the timing

-Ivan Reitman ('Ghostbusters' director)

This new film will partially deal with the original 'busters training a new class to come and carry on with the business.  No word on who will be playing the young Ghostbusters and everyone involved is staying pretty hush, hush about the whole situation.  According to sources both Dan Akroyd and Ivan Reitman have been in talks with Ashton Kutcher, Eliza Dushku and Anna Ferris to join the cast, but no word if they will be.  This is certainly going to be big.  I can't wait to see them put the proton packs on and kick some ghost ass!
