Being backstage with Against Me and Clutch: A Rock Girl plans for 2017

A lot of people around me have expressed the feeling that 2016 has been a year to demolish in flames. I say who needs flames- it's already been on fire so let's go out in flames and make 2017 even hotter!  Because really, how much better can a year get than when it includes being named Q103's Rock Girl!!!  You guys voted, and my only goal for the new year is to not just kick some a** at the job, but to do my best and rock the hardest for you.

I'm not a big resolutions person- but here's a few for my year as Rock Girl (which I already accomplished some of this week):

1) Doing more on-air work: I used to rock the airwaves back in the day (throwback shot below) and I'm so excited to be training with Tigman and Vinnie, and doing my weekly Q103 Rock Girl updates!  Catch me on air this year with Tig around 5:40 on Fridays- each week- to hear what I've been up to.  I spent some time with Tigman earlier in the week (talking a whole lot about how awesome the Skillet and Sick Puppies show at Upstate Concert Hall is going to be) so stay tuned, you'll get to hear my newest update tomorrow!

2) See more shows: I've seen a ridiculous amount of live rock in my life, and it's just not enough! I've gotten to work backstage for bands like Against Me, Gojira, and Clutch (see some photos below), and now I'm even more excited to be at the shows for YOU! Being Q103 Rock Girl tops it all, and I can't wait to see how this year plays out with live music.

3)  Get more tattoos: Because we all know you can never have enough tattoos. Ever.

4) See Chris Cornell for a 6th time:  Yes, I've seen him 5 times between his solo acts and Soundgarden.  And it would be hard to top when I was front row center for Soungarden in Atlantic City (photo below), and getting a shoutout for requesting "Like Suicide."  But each time he's just so damn good.  I'm a little obsessed, aren't you?

5) Listen to new music each week:  Done and done! And let me tell you, Nine Inch Nails new EP 'Not The Actual Events' is the ignition we need to kick off 2017 in flames.  They've never disappointed me, and they still don't.  I've seen NIN live twice now- once in Montreal solo and once in New Jersey with Soundgarden- and Trent Reznor just blows my mind.  The EP is out now and available!

6) Get Hitched! : As of next week, Friday the 13th to be exact, this Rock Girl will be hitched in a Rock and Roll wedding complete with sparkly purple shoes, skeleton cake decorations, and a reception at a Tim Burton-themed restaurant.  Because we all know Friday the 13th is the best day of the year anyways.
