Bummer, I really hate to see when a local business doesn't work out.

Lat year The Beer Diviner brewery in Cherry Plain, NY decided to open up a small taproom at 461 Broadway in downtown Troy.

Unfortunately though after only one year in business the brewery has announced that they will be closing the taproom at the end of this month. According to the Times Union the reason behind the closure is that the taproom simply didn't make any money.

However, it does appear that the owner is looking for a new spot in Troy to open the taproom and in fact is looking into the possibility of moving it across the street to the still under construction News Apartments. The News Apartments will be taking over the building that used to be the Troy Record headquarters and adding on an additional structure that will be retail spots on the first level and apartments in the upper levels.

Supposedly the retail space there is supposed to be ready for occupants by May so you may not be missing the Beer Diviner too long. Until then the current taproom will remain upon until the end of this month so get your fix while you can. You can stop by from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, or 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
