In just a little over a week the ever so famous Saratoga Race Track will be opening its doors for its 150th season. Get all the details about when it opens, how long the season is, who will be performing and what prizes will be offered.

Since 1863 Saratoga has been fulfilling the summers of New Englanders of all ages. Originally only a four day-long affair, the racing season continued to expand until it reached a total of 40 days, beginning in late July or early August and ending on or around Labor Day. Now, 150 years later Saratoga is ready for its milestone season and is still considered one of America's greatest jewels.

Opening day takes place on July 19, 2013 and will run until Labor Day- September 2, 2013. There are no races on Tuesdays.

Gates open at 11 am on weekdays and 10:30 am on weekends. Races start at 1 pm and times vary on days of special races. Fortunately, after all these years admission price still stands firm at $3 and $5 for Clubhouse seats. Again, these prices vary slightly on special race days. General parking is free and trackside parking is $10.

As always, there will be four prizes given away during the season: T-shirt day will be Sunday, July 28, the Fourstardave bobblehead day will be Sunday, August 11, The Saratoga Race Course replica model day will be Sunday, August 18 and the Saratoga beer stein day will be Sunday, September 1. These are all free with admission while supplies last.

This year, every Friday will be Family Fun Day. Children under 12 pay no admission and from 12-4 kids can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts and bouncy houses. Each week there will be a different featured activity as well, which you can find here.

On July 14 Saratoga will be hosting a free concert featuring Zendaya- runner-up of Dancing With the Stars and Disney Channel actress- in order to commemorate their 33rd annual Open House. It takes place from 11 am to 4 pm with the concert starting at 3 pm. Go here for more information and tickets.

Now that you have all the immediate info, will you be in attendance for racing season this year? What prize are you most looking forward to?
