St Patrick’s Day in Albany has a rich history of mass displays of illegal activity and this past holiday was no different. Monday, a 16-year-old was arrested for allegedly robbing another teen on South Pearl Street. I know this is not on the same impressive scale as a college street riot would be but it’s still crime on St. Paddy’s in Albany.

The teen allegedly pulled the old bait-and-rob move. The victim had arranged to meet the 16-year-old on South Pearl Street to sell him a pair of sneakers. The only issue was the victim was unaware that he would be accepting a few moments of being held at gun point as payment. No one was hurt during the incident and the 16-year-old made off with the sneakers.

The 16-year-old was later picked up by Albany detectives. He was arraigned in the City of Albany Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
