Only a few months ago, in March, "Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek had announced that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  As a pop culture staple in the world of TV, there was a lot of reaction to this in the news and on social media.

However now, according to multiple outlets that I read (CNNHealthline, and even Consequence of Sound), the host has announced he is "near remission".  While he is not fully in remission yet, he's on the upswing, and apparently according to CNN he said some of the tumors have already shrunk more than 50 percent.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the more aggressive types of cancer.  Healthline has a good breakdown when writing about Alex Trebek about pancreatic cancer in general and treatments, the prognosis, and more.  However, for him to be in "near remission" from Stage 4 is an amazing thing.  Anyone who knows anyone that's had pancreatic cancer (my grandfather recently passed away with pancreatic cancer, among other cancers) will know it's not easy in any way.  Here's to Alex Trebek moving from "near remission" to "remission" in the future!
