Albany has been ranked as one of the top 10 cities for the millennial generation (people ages 25-34).

According to an article from the Times Union, realtor.com chose Albany as one of 10 hottest cities for millennials where it ranked at number 8. Buffalo was the only other NY city that made the cut while Salt Lake City topped the list. 12.7 percent of millennials make up Albany's population and realtor.com used page views to determine their list, analyzing 60 large markets in the U.S. and comparing the national average.

Javier Vivas of realtor.com said that "high job growth in markets such as Orlando, Seattle, and Miami, and the power of affordability in places like Albany and Buffalo are making these markets magnets for millennials. But what really stands out is that all these markets already have large numbers of millennials, which translates into strong populations of millennial home buyers."
