It appears we're going to have another local celebrity on a national  television network next year.  John Lomascolo from Albany landed a spot on one of the most disgusting and awe-inspiring television shows you can find on the any tv network- Man vs. Food Nation.

With scenes from The Great Outdoors flashing through my mind, I can't help but wonder what the fate of local eating-challenge pro John Lomascolo will be when he takes a bite out of Man vs. Food Nation next year.  It might not be The Old' 96er he's aiming to consume, but I'd say he's got his work cut out for him anyway!

John's challenge will be to devour "The Graveyard Burger" from the Wagon Train BBQ in Rotterdam.  In a mere half hour, John will be tasked with eating the following in its entirety:

A 5½-pound sandwich consisting of a 1-pound burger, two fried eggs, barbecue sauce, four pieces of cheese, 8 ounces mac-n-cheese, 8 ounces beef brisket, onion “tanglers,” fried jalapenos, french fries and onion rings.

Salival glands: activate.  Though I hardly doubt one would be able to enjoy every savory, artery-clogging morsel in a 30-minute time limit.  The other requirement is that once it's in, it stays there.  This may not be an official rule, but it should be - who wants to see any of that come back up?

No official word yet, but the episode is slated to air sometime next year.
