'Urban Mining' is apparently a thing and has come to Albany.

The act of 'urban mining' is taking metal objects, like manhole covers, and selling them to scrap dealers for cash. David Kuehl is accused of stealing several, if not dozens, of manhole covers and storm gates around the Albany County and selling them.

This isn't the first time Kuehl has had a run in with the law for similar thefts. He was arrested back in December when he was caught with storm gates from around the area including Albany, Guilderland, and Colonie.

Kuehl was caught this time around on surveillance video picking up the manhole cover and placing it in the backseat of his car.
