Don't forget to check out the Upstate Concert Hall Arena Stage at Rock 'N Derby this weekend, or you might miss the full set from this amazingly talented local young lady!

Moriah Formica is a 15 year old student at Shaker High, although you wouldn't know it by the set of pipes this girl has on her. She has been taking the Capital Region by storm -- playing at some of the same local venues you would catch national acts and even winning last year's Schenectady Battle of the Bands.

This weekend she will take the stage, playing along side of many of her musical idols, at Rock'N Derby. The 3 day festival starts this Friday and runs through Sunday at the Schaghticoke County Fairgrounds where you'll see bands like Halestorm, Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, and over 40 other big names. It's also where you'll be able to support some local artists like Moriah Formica who, along with her band, will be playing the Upstate Concert Hall Arena Stage on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

I got the pleasure to to sit down with Moriah this afternoon in the Q studios to talk a bit about herself, her music, working with Michael Sweet of Stryper, her upcoming performance at Rock'N Derby, and she even jammed out to one of her singles from her upcoming EP for us. Watch our video interview below and listen -- this girl has mad skills!

Don't forget to check out her set at Rock'n Derby this weekend if you're heading out to the festival and pick up her new EP when it comes out on July 22!
