The ‘Rise of the Empire’ is upon us!  The Albany Empire kicked off their AFL season last night, and kicked some butt with a win.

In front of 11,682 fans, the Albany Empire defeated the Columbus Destroyers to start off the season in a competitive way.  With a final score of 35-19, hopefully the Empire can create some momentum to bring into the rest of the season.  Before the game even started though, the event was full of energy.  The pregame block party of course was rocking, with Q103’s Tatiana hosting the Times Union Center Atrium, while rock music played and fans got excited.  On a chilly day, the Albany Empresses were doing routines outside to keep the block party heated.  Inside as the game kicked off, pyrotechnics lit things upeven more.

Congrats to the Albany Empire for their big win! If you’re interested in more about the team, you can check out their official site.
