Some really cool FREE public transportation options are kicking off in Albany this week!

I feel like with the arrival of ridesharing services in the Capital Region rapidly approaching the CDTA is really trying to step up their game BIG TIME and I gotta tell you I am definitely not complaining!

This week the Capital District Transportation Authority announced that FREE public transportation option is going to be available in Albany this week. According to the TU the new Capital City Shuttle will begin a FREE shuttle service through Albany every Thursday through Saturday from 5pm until 12:30am starting this weekend and running through Labor Day.

The shuttle is coming into play in order to "promote safe and convenient travel for visitors and residents downtown" and will run about every 20 minutes along the route which goes

From Washington Park (Madison and New Scotland) to Lark, Lark to Washington, Washington to downtown, and north on Broadway to the city's Warehouse District.

Don't worry Albany isn't the only Capital Region city to get the shuttle treatment because according to that very same article,

CDTA already operates a summer shuttle service in Saratoga Springs and will unveil plans next week for a Schenectady service. Talks are ongoing with Troy officials for future service there.
