History took place in Seattle this afternoon as Chicago White Sox pitcher Phillip Humber thrown major league baseballs 21st perfect game in a 4-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.  It was the first perfect game in almost 2 years after Roy Hollady of Philadelphia Phillies threw one in May 29th 2010.  Humber's perfect game was the third perfect game for the Chicago White Sox.

The perfect game almost didn't happen as the last batter in the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Brendan Ryan got a full count and somewhat wild pitch from Humber.  Ryan thought he checked his switch but home plate umpire Brian Runge said no.  The ball got away from catcher A.J Pierzynski, Ryan argued the call while Pierzynski threw to first base to end the game and secure a perfect game 27 up, 27 down for Phillip Humber.
