10 Most Anticipated Games of 2016

2015 was a year of highs and lows for the video game industry.  We've seen the blunders of Batman: Arkham Knight's PC version. The Order: 1886 fell face-first after being bragged about by Sony. The story and release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain showed telltale signs of Hideo Kojima leaving and we all facepalmed throughout Konami's mishandling of everything (including the cancellation of Silent Hills). Nevertheless, 2016 has us hopeful that video game makers can still wow our socks off. After a shaky year for the video game industry, we're breaking out this list of the 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2016 to rekindle our hope in future games, knowing there are plenty of excellent titles still on the horizon.

You can expect a few familiar series here as well as some completely new IPs in this list of anticipated games. Most of the developers here are known for some of our favorite games in recent memory, so we're eagerly awaiting what they have in store for the future. Some famous franchises will be making their current-gen console debuts, so developers are pulling out all the stops to give them a proper Xbox One/PlayStation 4 debut. Unfortunately, we had to axe a lot of potentially great games from this list in order to get a clear cut selection of 10, but don't be mad just because you didn't see Ghost Recon or Street Fighter V here — we're anticipating those as well. Expect COGs, Mogs, Parkour, Hyrule, an apocalyptic world, a treasure hunter and more in the 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2016.
