The holiday season is upon you! And there are lots of great ways to be festive this season around the Capital Region.

I filtered through local calendars of upcoming events to pick out some holiday activities coming up in the region this week to help you get festive. Because really, you’re over a week into December, and ‘tis the season, so why not celebrate the season in full force. Here’s some fun activities for you to check out (you can more info on all of the events here):

  • The Muppet Christmas Carol: Monday night at the Palace Theatre, as part of their ‘Monday Night Movie Series’ you can catch this holiday classic! (I say it’s a classic because it’s one of my favorites)
  • Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch: Tomorrow night, why not enjoy some live music! Especially rock music.  That’s festive to me!  The show’s happening at the Times Union Center, and will definitely make your week rock.
  • Annual Schenectady Festival of Trees: This started Dec. 1st, you can check out all kinds of decorated holiday trees
  • Pet Nights with Santa: Too old for a photo with Santa? Don’t have kids? No problem! This Wednesday, 12/12, it’s ‘Pet Night’ with Santa at Colonie Center. So yes, your furry friend can take photo with Santa too from 6-8 pm
  • Ghost at the Palace Theatre: ok maybe this isn’t technically festive, but Ghost is religiously sinful and amazing. They’re rocking the Palace Theatre this Thursday!
  • Toys for Tots Collection at miSci: There’s always a good time in doing good.  This Saturday, the 15th, it’s a collection day for Toys for Tots.  So if you want a fun day, bring a new unopened toy to miSci, help donate, and get $5 off admission to the center!
