It's that time of year again.  The grass, the dirt, the food.  It's baseball season, and this Yankee fan, and fans of all teams, are ready to get taken out to the ball game.

Some may say that baseball is boring.  To that I say, who asked you anyway?   Baseball season has begun, and we are almost ready to watch those New York Yankees kick off their quest for a 28th World Series title.  It's hands down one of the best times of the year.

The weather is warm, the food is grilled, the beers is cold, and the sound of a wooden bat (none of that aluminum stuff, yuck) is all you need. When I was a kid I lived for baseball.  When I couldn't play, I watched it, and when I couldn't watch it, I watched movies like 'The Sandlot'.  What a great sport it is.

Personally, I can't wait for the first match up between the Yanks and Red Sox, because that rivalry is what summer is all about.  The Yankees kick off their season on the road in Tampa Bay Friday afternoon.  The Red Sox began their season Thursday against Detroit, and they lost to the Tigers 3-2.

The JV team in New York, the Mets, also began their season on Thursday, and after a disastrous off season they started things off on the right foot.  They beat the rival Braves 1-0 to open things up at home.  It's nice to see when things go right for the little brother.

So lets get ready, because it's a long season, and I for one am ready to play ball.
