Fans asked some more questions about the Xbox One and Microsoft answered.

An ongoing Q&A on IGN features fan questions answered by Xbox One Chief Platform Architect Marc Whitten. The latest batch of queries deals with the Xbox One’s Day One update, updates from devs and publishers, social media presences on Xbox One, and other pressing matters that fans want to know.

Some highlights include information on the Xbox One’s Day One update, which is currently being optimized and is expected to take “between 15 and 20 minutes for most users.”

The question was asked whether or not Twitter/Facebook will return on the Xbox One. Whitten said, “We continue to work with great partners to bring the best app experiences to Xbox One. While I can’t comment on the specifics of these two partners right now, at launch you will be able to access Twitter and Facebook through the Internet Explorer web browser on Xbox One at launch.”

One fan asked if playing on the Xbox One will grant them a chance to change their gamertag for free as a sort of a fresh start. Whitten replied by saying that all current gamertags will roll over from the existing Xbox LIVE community and that there are no changes to the current policy with regard to gamertags.

It was also asked whether downloads pushed out by developers will download in the background and then kick players upon completion or if it kicks them instantly until the download is complete. Whitten said, “Content providers will have the ability to push two types of content updates with Xbox One: ones that are immediately mandatory like in Xbox 360 and ones that are optional. If you opt to not take an optional update, you can continue to play online and do the update at a later time.”

Those are just a few of the many questions that Whitten tackled in the latest update to the Q&A. To read up on all of his answers, check the link above. And look out for the Xbox One when it launches on Nov. 22.
