It's hot out. On a day like today I am thankful for everyone who is working jobs like these in weather like this while the AC is cranked here in the Q studios.

We got a nice little heat wave going on here in the Capital Region and while I'm sitting here in the Q studio being thankful that the AC is currently working properly I happened to look at the window and notice that there are some folks working hard today that don't have quite the same luxury.

Outside the building right now there a several men working diligently in the over 90 degree heat and it got me thinking that there a people working right now that have to be hating life working in this heat. So I decided to compile a list of jobs that I think would have to be the worst in the baking sun.

(in no particular order)

1.) Landscapers: These good folks spend the day hopping in and out of trucks lugging heavy equipment and working the land that we can't be bothered to while dealing with multiple aspects of nature. My allergies are killing me just thinking about it.

2.) Construction Workers: Working long hours in the blazing heat covered in sawdust and paint. Crawling on 2x4s' multiple stories above ground level wile wearing protective gear, no thank you.

3.) Asphalt Layers: Nope. Scorching sun + hot asphalt = BRUTAL

4.) Cooks: Think about it. It's definitely too hot to cook so naturally tonight's a night for takeout or going out for dinner. While you enjoy your meal in the AC or on a shaded patio there are people slaving away over grills and flames with ovens on just baking in the kitchen (in more ways then one).

5.) Mechanics: Your poor mechanic is stuck all day under cars with hot engines in a garage, that lets be honest, probably has less than etiquette ventilation.

If you are working any of these gigs today my hats off to you! Let me just take a moment here to say that you are appreciated and thank you for the work you do! Of course these are just a few that popped into my head today so if you would like to add to the list by all means, leave 'em in the comments!
