Consumer Price Index Continues To Rise

NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 19: Chocolate cakes are displayed at a market April 19, 2011 in New York City. According to government statistics released last Friday, the Consumer Price Index has climbed 2.7 percent in the past 12 months on everything from chocolate to gas. That is the largest inflationary rise since 2009 and only looks to continue rising. Coupled with a growing economy and a gradual fall in the nation’s unemployment rate, economists have yet to become alarmed over the price increases. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
