Two things ol' Monte is a fan of: Cheeseburgers and Running.  However, the two together?  Not so hot of a combo.  Emily Strunk-Helm, a native of Arizona, begs to differ.  Strunk-Helm plans to run a marathon after a 31 day strict diet of only McDonalds food!


In preparation for running the 26.2 mile race in Long Beach, Emily Strunk-Helm is eating nothing but McDonalds food for 31 days.  The story doesn't sound so crazy when you read her reason behind the ummm errrr - diet.  Strunk-Helm wants to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.  According to Piper Weiss' story, here is a bit of her daily meal plan:

"1 Fruit and Yogurt Parfait
1 Chocolate Chip Cookie
1 Hot and Spicy McChicken Sandwich
1 Small French Fry
2 Large Diet Cokes
1 Large Vanilla Cone
1 Crispy Chicken Ranch Wrap
1 Medium French Fry
1 Apple Pie"

As a runner myself, I'm not sure I could make it 2.6 miles with a value meal in my tummy let alone 26.2!  However, seeing as today is a Monte Lazy Day Sunday, I could use some fries.  mmmm friiiiiies.   I digress - what do you think of her McDonald's marathon diet?
