It's a dream of almost everyone; winning a major lottery jackpot, then quitting your job for sandy beaches and drinks with umbrellas. A dream indeed, but would you actually quite your job? A new Gallop poll says most Americans would actually keep their job and work even after winning a major jackpot.

According to the poll, two-thirds (44%) of Americans would actually keep their job even after winning a $10 million jackpot. Interestingly enough, that's up from a 2005 poll where most said they would actually leave their job.

23% said they would keep working, just at a different job, while 31% said they would stop working altogether.

Researchers say the reason for the change in mentality is the recession, with most people valuing the idea of a stable job even if unexpected fortune comes their way.
