I don't know much about Finland. I think it's near Denmark, or Sweden, or maybe both. They probably export something I use everyday, but as far as I'm concerned, their biggest contribution is wife-carrying competitions.

This is a yearly event in Finland that started waaaaaay back in the 1990s, according to NBCNews, and may be loosely based on what outlaw CrossFit used to be in the 19th century. Why do they keep doing it? The Finnish people thought there should be "at least one news story in the year that makes people laugh." The event has been adopted by Maine, now in it's 15th year, so yes, you can get in on it.

Don't think you're out because you're not married either. This year's winners weren't even a couple, and that's just fine for the competition. What do you win? Well here's where strategy in picking a partner comes in. The winner gets the wife's weight in beer, and five times her weight in cash. Choose wisely gentlemen, you have one year to prepare.
