2011 was a great year for the rock music concert fan as over 25 rock shows came thru the Albany area.   There were big shows like Avenged Sevenfold and the Music As A Weapon Tour,  club shows like Alter Bridge and Seether, small intimate shows like Sully Erna and Chris Cornell at the Egg.  Q103 produced some big radio shows like Q-Ruption starring Godsmack and Five Finger Death Punch plus the Thanskgiving Hangover with Staind.  So which one was your favorite?

For me the most satisfying show had to be Q-Ruption at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in August.  Not only did I have a major part in booking and promoting the bands, over 12,000 Q103 listeners saw Egypt Central, Sick Puppies, Skillet, Five Finger Death Punch and Godsmack all on one stage.

Each show that came thru certainly had memorable experiences.  The dead body hanging at A7x,  The 360 degree roller coaster at Motley Crue,  Jacoby of Papa Roach putting a hole in the wall at Northern Lights,  Scott Weiland appearing two hours late, or a two and a half hour acoustic performance from Chris Cornell.
