Vin Diesel has been teasing fans left and right about his involvement in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' but the star of the 'Fast and Furious' franchise will indeed be voicing the tree-like superhero Groot for Marvel's space opera. During his downtime on the set of his latest, 'Fast and Furious 7,' the actor taped a video of himself practicing being 7-1/2-feet-tall for the role, and offered it up for the enjoyment of his fans.

Diesel has always been incredibly active on Facebook, offering up the latest photos and details on all his projects, and his most recent update reveals footage of himself walking around on stilts. Why? Because the actor said motion capture will be used to render Groot in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' as opposed to the rotomation for Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper). When his character only has one line in the entire film ("I am Groot!"), Marvel has to get the most out of his involvement.

While prancing around the 'Fast 7' set, he also ran into his fellow stars Kurt Russell and Djimon Hounsou, the latter of who is featured in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as Korath. Also starring in the upcoming superhero movie are Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, the previously mentioned Cooper, Michael Rooker, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly and Glenn Close. Directed by James Gunn, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is set for release on August 1, 2014.
