VanCuler Music Store, a Proctor's staple in Schenectady, is closing it's doors after 32 years.

According to timesunion.com, the sheet music store that has been open for 32 years offering printed music of everything from Broadway shows and top 40 hits to work from classical performers like Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. The store located right next to Proctor's Theater would stay open late on performance nights, making it convenient for customers, but it made for long hours. Business has been on the decline in recent years and store owners Rhoda and Florence Luborsky blame online competition for the reason the store is going out of business. Rhoda Luborsky said " There's a mix of sadness and surprise. It's heart-rending because a lot of people have relied on us as a base for their teaching and enjoyment."  Luborsky says she expects the area's "strong and vibrant music community" to continue after the store's closing.
