History was made at the Joe on Saturday when your division champion Tri-City ValleyCats were no-hit by the Vermont Lake Monsters.

A 15.5 game lead in the division and facing a starter with a record of 0-9 had to make you think the ValleyCats were licking their chops at lighting up the Lake Monsters on Saturday.  Well, the old adage did not hold water as the Monsters used three pitchers to combine for a no-hitter.

J.C. Menna pitched six no-hit innings for the Monsters before being pulled. Deyvi Jimenz and Ryan Dull came on in relief to finish up the gem.  Andrew Pentis quotes Menna after the game "This was my last start of the season, so I set the bar real high." Menna continues "I went out there with focus, thinking this could be the last start of my life. I didn't take it for granted."

You never want to see your hometown team no-hit, but it's hard to pass up congratulating someone on making history.  Hats off to Menna! The Cats, whom have already broke the team record for most wins in a season and are currently tied with Renegades for the best record in the NY Penn League, will now be focusing on the playoffs which you can see at the Joe this Saturday.

Did you make it out the game to see the no-hitter?
