According to nypost.com, new legislation will now make it ok to pee on the streets of New York City if you desire.

The "Criminal Justice Reform Act" was passed Wednesday, giving public urination offenders a get-out-of-jail-free card. They will now face only civil summonses instead of criminal citations. The various acts that the council voted to decriminalize in addition to public urination also include drinking alcohol from a paper bag, lurking in parks after hours, and noise code violations. Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to sign the legislation. Some opponents of the legislation feel that the changes could lead to a decline in quality of life. Councilman Steve Matteo said, "we don't want people to think it's ok to urinate in public. We want there to be real consequences because there's a big difference between a criminal fine and a civil fine."

How do you feel about the new legislation?
