Union Hockey Gets Championship Ride to Frozen Four
The Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament Final Four may be over with the Kentucky Wildcats winning it all. Next up is the Men’s NCAA Frozen Four, where the Union College Hockey Team from Schenectady New York will be taking the ice on Thursday against Ferris State. Some foreshadowing is that they may have received their ‘Championship Ride’ to Tampa. After the Kentucky Wildcats won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the charter plane flew them from New Orleans to Lexington, Kentucky. That very same plane was then scheduled to fly to Albany International Airport to fly the Union College Hockey Team to Tampa Florida for the Frozen Four.
Let’s hope whatever karma was on that plane wore off on the Union College Hockey Team. This is the first time in their 20+ year playing Division 1 Hockey that the school will be represented in the Frozen Four.
Union College will play Ferris State , another school that is appearing for the first time in the Frozen Four Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm. The winner will then play the championship game on Saturday night. Perhaps then the team will board the same plane as Champions!
