Uber and Lyft have only been around in the Capital Region for less than a year, but both companies have released their Top 10 destinations over the recent 6 month period.  As reported by the Times Union, Uber and Lyft have been around since late June in the Capital Region, and have effected the community through not just ride-availability, but also by offering jobs to people in the Capital Region as drivers.   I flipped through the Times Union slideshow and found some interesting and consistent locations in each company's Top 10 (in no specific order):

Lyft: City Beer Hall, Pearl Street Pub, Saratoga Race Course, Times Union Center, Colonie Center, Crossgates Mall, University at Albany

Uber: City Beer Hall, Pearl Street Pub, Saratoga Race Course, SPAC, Siena College, Crossgates Mall, University at Albany

Basically it looks like event locations (where drinks are probably involved), colleges, and shopping/entertainment are the biggies for these ride-hailing companies.  Not shocking. But nonetheless these are not the locations I would think would be the top destinations or locations in the Capital Region.  But that's because I'm very music-minded. SPAC I would pick, but if I was to need to hitch a ride through Uber or Lyft, some of my top destinations would be:

SPAC, Jupiter Hall (Crossgates), Upstate Concert Hall, The Palace Theater, Times Union Center, Pearl Street Pub, The Hollow, The Egg/Empire State Plaza, Colonie Center

What would yours be?
