Happy Birthday today (Sept. 26) to Sixx:A.M. singer James Michael. He’s 50. Other rockers celebrating include current Cult, ex White Zombie drummer John Tempesta (53) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra, ex Megadeth guitarist Al Pitrelli (55).

James Michael is the lead singer for the band Sixx:A.M. and also a producer, engineer, and songwriter. He co-founded the band in 2007 by Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx and guitarist DJ Ashba. Michael produced the band’s debut album The Heroin Diaries Soundtrach which featured the number 1 rock single Life is Beautiful. He also worked with Motley Crue on their last studio album Saints of Los Angeles. Sixx:A.M.’s last studio albums Prayers for the Damned, Vol. 1 and Prayers for the Blessed, Vol. 2 were released last year. Got to see Sixx:A.M. perform last year at the Rock'n Derby music festival just outside of Albany and the band kicked ass. Great show. It's a shame that the three day rock festival didn't return this year for whatever reason. Cheers to James Michael on his 50th today!
