Happy Birthday today (Sept. 19) to rocker Lita Ford. She’s 59.

Following the breakup of The Runaways, Lita Ford launched a solo career and released her debut solo album Out for Blood in 1983. The album was a commercial disappointment. She followed that up with the album Dancin’ on the Edge in 1984 and that album achieved moderate success with the single ‘Gotta Let Go’.  In 1988, she released her most successful album Lita which included the hits “Kiss Me Deadly” along with duet with Ozzy, “Close My Eyes Forever”.

Lita Ford continues to record and tour with her band featuring Lita on lead guitar and vocals, Patrick Kennison on guitar, Bobby Rock on drums, and Marty O’Brien on bass. She’s was out touring with Halestorm in 2016 and she also released her autobiography last year called Living Like A Runaway. Cheers to Lita on her birthday today!
