Happy Birthday today (May 2) to original Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm. He’s 67. Other rockers celebrating include original Steppenwolf keyboardist Goldy McJohn (72) and Argent drummer Bob Henrit (73).

Foreigner are among the world’s best selling rock band’s with sales of over 80 million worldwide. Their career started with the successful self-titled debut album released in 1977 with hits like “Feels Like the First Time”, Cold as Ice”, and “Long, Long Way from Home”. The album Double Vision followed in 1978, Head Games in 1979. and the worldwide smash 4 in 1981. More albums and success would follow throughout the 1980’s. Foreigner remains a popular touring act with singer Kelly Hansen these days while Lou Gramm now tours under the name ‘Lou Gramm the voice of Foreigner’.
Lou Gramm and Mick Jones were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

As Foreigner celebrates their 40th anniversary in 2017, look for Lou Gramm to show up at select shows to perform with the band. Will Lou be showing up in Saratoga Springs at SPAC July 18 when Foreigner performs with Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience? Guess we will just have to wait and see.
