Happy Birthday today (July 24) to original drummer and co-founder of Extreme, Paul Geary. He's 57.

Extreme formed out of Boston, Massachusetts in 1985 with the original line up of Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, Paul Geary, and Pat Badger. The band reached popularity in the late 1980's and early 1990's with their biggest success coming with 1990's Pornograffitti and the number 1 single "More Than Words". Other singles would include "Decadence Dance", "Get the Funk Out", and "Hole Hearted". The band would appear at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in April of 1992 which interrupted recording sessions for the band's next album. Eventually the band would find more success would come with the release of the band's third album III Sides to Every Story in 1992 which featured the single "Rest in Peace".

Drummer Paul Geary would leave the band in 1994 to pursue a career in artist management. Cheers to Paul Geary on his birthday today!
