Happy Birthday today (Jan. 30) to Phil Collins. He’s 67. Also celebrating is guitarist Bill Leverty of hair metal band Firehouse (51).

Phil Collins gained fame as drummer and singer for Genesis, and has had worldwide success as a solo artist. He is among the best selling artists of all time with an estimated 150 million in worldwide sales. Genesis formed out of Godalming, Surrey England in 1967 with the most successful lineup being Collins on drums and vocals, Mike Rutherford on guitar, and Tony Banks on keyboards. His solo career started with the release of 1981's Face Value and the massive rock radio hit "In the Air Tonight". Ozzy Osbourne called the drum fill in the song "the best ever- it still sounds awesome" and his songs have been covered by hard rock band's Nonpoint and Shinedown. Another Collin's hit, "I Don't Care Anymore" was covered by metal band Hellyeah in 2016 for their album Undeniable and the track features guitar parts by the late Pantera legend Dimebag Darrell. Saint Asonia also covered "I Don't Care Anymore" in 2016.

Collins was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010. Cheers to Phil Collins on his birthday today! For more on Phil Collins, check out his official website here.
