Happy Birthday today (Jan. 16) to Kane Roberts. The guitarist best known for his work with Alice Cooper in the late 1980's is 56.

Kane Roberts played guitar with Alice Cooper on 1986's Constrictor and 1987's Raise Your Fist and Yell albums. He also had a guest spot on the 1989 album Trash performing on the song "Bed of Nails". Roberts was known for his Rambo -like appearance and machine gun guitar. He launched a solo career in 1987 and released the album Kane Roberts. A second solo album Saints and Sinners followed in 1991. Roberts took a hiatus from music for several years after his second solo album and returned with a new band called Phoenix Down in 1999 and they released one album. A collection of previously unreleased material called Unsung Radio was released in 2012. I never got the chance to see Kane Roberts with Alice or solo in concert, but it appeared the chicks loved this dude! Watch the girls all go crazy for Roberts in the video for his song "Rock Doll" below. The clip is from a vintage episode of MTV's Headbangers Ball.
